The Latch On America crew has a full day of spotlighting local organizations and agencies that support breastfeeding families planned for our July 20 stop in Seattle and the surrounding areas! We'll even be taking a ferry ride to Puget Sound (no, the big pink bus will not be on the ferry)!
Join us in Seattle ...
- Seattle Gathering Event:
The Seattle event will be on the tail end of the day-long workshop led by world renowned human lactation experts Professor Peter Hartmann, PhD; Polly Sisk, PhD; Michelle McGuire, PhD; and Mark McGuire, PhD, where nearly 150 people will gather to learn about the latest research on human milk.
- The Latch On America Documentary Crew will enjoy the scenic ferry ride to Puget Sound for a spotlight on rural breastfeeding promotion with the Island County New Baby, New Family home visit program.
Next, since Seattle is home to 98118, the most diverse ZIP code in the country, our amazing organizer has put together a roundtable with several community organizations that provide holistic, comprehensive and culturally-relevant health promotion and breastfeeding support for communities of color and immigrants. This includes Open Arms Perinatal Services, SeaMar Community Health Centers, International Community Health Services, the Equal Start Community Coalition and the American Indian Health Commission.
