  • Rochester Gathering Event:

From 2 to 5 pm, come see the bus, say hello to the crew, snap photos, and meet some of your local breastfeeding experts and supporters! Dr. Ruth Lawrence, community groups and research programs will set up tables to display information about their work.

  • The Latch On America Documentary Crew will be focusing on the Surgeon General's Call to Action, Action #17, increase funding for high-quality research, when we tour the research facility at the University of Rochester Medical Center and talk to a pediatric surgeon who is studying breastmilk to help prevent necrotizing enterocolitis in infants.

The film crew is also very excited to interview Dr. Ruth Lawrence, a major breastfeeding pioneer and author of Breastfeeding: A Guide for the Medical Profession; Nancy Chin, an anthropologist who works with deaf women who are nursing; and Dr. Ann Dozier, who works with women on public assistance to help them learn about breastfeeding.

Rochester is going to be an amazing stop where we learn so much!
