We'll be packing our sunblock when the big pink bus cruises through the spectacular desert and mountain landscape of Imperial County. We can't wait to meet local moms and WIC and support community members, as well as hear Milk for Thought founder Ryan Comfort dust off his Spanish at the event!
Join us in Imperial County ...
- Imperial County Gathering Event:
It’ll be 100-plus degrees outside, so beat the heat with other breastfeeding supporters and new moms inside Imperial Valley Mall.
We'll be joined by leaders from Clinicas de Salud del Pueblo, Inc. WIC Program, and other amazing organizations such as Imperial County Public Health Department, Imperial County Breastfeeding Coalition, La Leche League, El Centro Regional Medical Center Asthma Program, Riverside Office of Education Migrant Head Start, Imperial County Parks and Recreation, Jazzercise, and Little Hands Learning Center!
The event host, the Clinicas de Salud del Pueblo, Inc. WIC Program, is the only agency in the county with three main sites (El Centro, Calexico and Brawley), while also providing services in Niland, West Shores and Winterhaven, serving about 9,000 participants total in the valley!
- The Latch On America Documentary Crew will also be interviewing local agricultural workers and members of the Hispanic community about their unique nursing experiences and breastfeeding perceptions.
It's going to be an amazing day where we learn a ton about the overall landscape of the breastfeeding community in this country!
