July 30

While there won't be time to host a public event while we're stopped in Hartford on the afternoon of July 30, the Latch On America crew will be helping to share the story of one amazing family and a hospital and group of doctors that are dedicated to helping preemies and NICU babies get the breastmilk they need to have the healthiest start possible.

Check out what's in store in Hartford ...

In Hartford, we'll stop into the NICU at Connecticut Children’s Medical Center for interviews with Dr. Kathie Marinelli about the use of banked donor milk.

Next, we'll have the chance to meet and interview Amy Anderson and her husband. Amy is a mom from Maine who, after losing her son Bryson in late-October at 20 weeks gestation, has donated an unbelievable amount of her breastmilk to NICU babies, some of which has already been used in the Connecticut Children's Medical Center NICU, and much of which is in the freezers at the Milk Bank in Boston waiting to be pasteurized.

The amazing day doesn't stop there! We'll also be on hand as Amy and her husband meet some of the mothers whose babies have receievd her donor milk.

It's going to be an incredibly important, touching and powerful day in Hartford.

Special thanks to Dr. Kathie Marinelli (and thanks in advance for the hot, homecooked meal!!), the Anderson family, and everyone who is participating in this day.
