Boston, MA

July 30

Boston is home to some top supporters and advocates in the breastfeeding community, and we'll be meeting them, as well as some nursing moms, when we stop for a morning visit on Saturday, July 30! And, if you're in the Melrose area, come check out the Big Pink Bus!

Here's what's on tap in Boston ...

In the town of Melrose, just outside of Boston, we'll be meeting the principal facilitator of The Melrose-Wakefield Hospital Baby Café. The Baby Café is a free, drop-in support center for breastfeeding moms and their babies, which Lucia Jenkins started five years ago. Although there are 200 Baby Cafes in the rest of the world, Melrose is the first in the U.S., funded by Hallmark Health, a not-for-profit medical system.

The Café has been shown by gathered data to increase mothers' success meeting their goals for breastfeeding their babies, which is exactly what the Latch On America Tour wants to showcase. The documentary crew will be filming a Baby Cafe and interviewing Lucia and a few of the moms she helps there.

We'll be parked next door to the Baby Café at Nazarine Church at 3 Short Street, Melrose, MA 02176, so come out and see the Big Pink Bus if you're in the area!
